The ORI number is the digital address used by the state to direct your fingerprinting results to the appropriate regulatory agency for review. You cannot be scanned without this number. If you are unsure of your ORI number, please check with your employer, licensing authority, or regulatory agency.
While we do accept walk-ins, we highly encourage you to make an appointment online. Simply select your preferred date and time, then enter your name, ORI number, phone number, and email.
You will need at least one form of government-issued identification, preferably a Florida driver's license or identification card, as well as a second form of identification and a form of payment. The entire process takes approximately 10-15 minutes. Ensure your hands are clean with no visible dirt; however, it is not necessary to wash them before the appointment. Please refrain from using hand sanitizer or lotions beforehand, as they may affect the quality of the scan. Once completed, the scan will be submitted to the state for immediate processing, and you will receive a receipt via email with the Transaction Control Number (TCN) and other pertinent information.
It can take up to 5 business days to process your results completely. For information on the outcome of your background check, please inquire with your employer or regulatory agency. We do not receive or review the results; any inquiries regarding the scan or results should be directed to the applicable state regulatory agency or the Florida Department of Law Enforcement at (850) 410-8161, using the provided Transaction Control Number (TCN). However, you can check the submission status of your scan [here]. By inputting your TCN number, you can view when the scan was submitted, the ORI number used, and the completion status. If you have any issues or further questions, please don't hesitate to contact us for assistance.
